Since 2014, Specialized Information Services (FID) have been funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft in Germany. They are an information infrastructure focused on the specific needs of certain research fields - primarily digital, location-independent information - usually complementing the services offered by local university libraries. Most of them maintain a digital research catalog and provide their users with special literature. Many FIDs in Germany are based on VuFind. However, since FIDs are nationwide in scope and offer dedicated services, the Leipzig University Library and the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel have developed numerous open source applications for their Specialized Information Services in recent years that provide solutions for the specific requirements of FIDs. In this presentation, the system of the Specialized Information Services as well as the two Specialized Information Services in Leipzig and Wolfenbüttel with their recently developed Vufind modules - such as our user management system (FIDIS), a result grouping for similar title records and the individualized availability notice, which shows the holdings and licensing of the local library of the respective user - will be presented and possibilities for re-use will be discussed.
